During the two days of conference, 5 well-known keynote speakers in North America gave the presentations in different topics regarding Chinese language teaching. Their new ways of thinking to teach Chinese benefited our teachers a lot.
On October 16, more than 25 delegates had the opportunity to visit some Chinese bilingual program schools in Edmonton that is part of the conference activity. They toured some of the elementary, junior high and senior high schools. The visitors were very impressed by the language skills of our students in the Edmonton Chinese bilingual program.
The Confucius Institute in Edmonton also organized the ‘Golden Autumn Gala’ during the conference. About 100 performers from CIE, Confucius Institute at University of Saskatchewan, Confucius Institute of Binghamton University and Confucius Institute in New Brunswick provided a wonderful performance with a variety show to display the Chinese culture and art to Edmontonians and conference delegates.
