Graduation Ceremony for CIE 2018 Winter Session of Chinese Language and Culture Classes

On May 28, the graduation ceremony of the Chinese language and culture classes of 2018 Winter Session was held at the Confucius Institute in Edmonton. More than 100 students and their families and friends attended the ceremony.

In the welcome remarks, Dr. Wei Li appraised all the effort and hard work of all the students to learn Chinese language and also the Chinese culture classes. The most exciting news was that some of the Chinese language classes have passed the HSK Level 2 and 3 tests in May. This was a great achievement.

At the graduation ceremony, the students from different classes did their showcase about what they have learned in the class. The language class students put up different performances such as singing and drama. The culture class students did the calligraphy, played Guzhen, Erhu and also displayed their Chinese fan painting. Lastly, the Chinese dance class showed a very beautiful and traditional dance. All the students tried and worked very hard to prepare the showcase and they all took it very seriously.

At the end, CIE presented the graduation certificates to the students. One student representative during his speech expressed the thanks to all the teachers for their hard work to make the classes enjoyable. He appreciated that the Confucius Institute provides such good opportunity for the students to learn the Chinese language and culture.
