The First CIE Chinese Writing Contest Award Ceremony

On January 28th, the first CIE Chinese Writing Contest Award Ceremony took place at the Confucius Institute in Edmonton. Approximately 200 people attended the event including students, family members, teachers and principals.

613 students from 14 schools participated in the contest in November. 62 students became winners of which 13 won first place, 13 received second place, and 36 were awarded third place. Mr. Cameron Mah, Director of the CIE, presented the awards to the winners.

The purpose of the contest is to support the schools by encouraging the students to write in Chinese and improve their writing skills.
