Dumplings 饺子

Dumplings 饺子

Chinese people like eating dumplings for their delicious taste and auspicious meaning. Jiao zi (dumplings) are shaped like the ancient currency from China called yuan bao. Dumplings are traditionally made and eaten on Chinese New Year to wish for good fortune in the coming New Year. A coin is sometimes placed into a dumpling and the person who discovers the coin is considered be lucky. Chinese people believe that a hot bowl of jiao zi represents a family’s love and affection for each other.
