Chinese Language Credentials

The Confucius Institute in Edmonton is a centre for the administration of internationally recognized testing, providing formal credentialing in Chinese language. These tests are administered in two categories: HSK and YCT.

Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK)

Certify your knowledge of Chinese language with the HSK test, the only standard Chinese language proficiency exam for non-native speakers. There are nine levels: Levels 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7-9. (Read more)

HSK Speaking Test (HSKK)

HSKK is used to assess your oral Chinese abilities. There are three levels: primary level, intermediate level, and advanced level. (Read more)

Youth Chinese Test (YCT)

Designed for younger Chinese learners, this test can be used as a marker on your journey to becoming fluent in Mandarin. There are six levels of writing test and two levels of oral test. Writing test and oral test are independent to each other. (Read more)
