
On April 7, Mr. Alexandre Trudeau, a filmmaker, journalist and the younger brother of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, paid a visit to the Confucius Institute in Edmonton.
Mr. Trudeau was invited to give a speech at the 2017 National Conference for Second Language Educators in Edmonton. Although he had a very tight schedule, he still managed to pay a visit to the Confucius Institute in Edmonton.
Dr. Lorne Parker, Executive Director of EPSB, Dr. Mianmian Xie, Cultural Coordinator of the CIE and Mr. Ken Lam, member of CIE board of directors hosted the visit. They toured Mr. Trudeau around the CIE facilities and provided him a brief introduction about the establishment and development of CIE. Mr. Trudeau also met with Chinese visiting teachers of the CIE. He was impressed by the achievements of the CIE.
During the visit, Mr. Trudeau also signed his book Barbarian Lost: Travels in the New China, the number one national bestseller and a Hill Times Best Book of 2016.
