Grand Opening Ceremony for the Confucius Classroom at Centre High Campus

Centre High School hosted a grand opening ceremony on the occasion of the establishment of a Confucius Classroom at their school. The number of  students at Center High wishing to study Mandarin has been increasing during last few years. Therefore, the school decided to provide the Mandarin courses to meet the students’ need. Under the support of CIE, the Mandarin classes started last year and the program has been well received.

On September 14, the opening ceremony was held to officially start the Confucius Classroom. Board Chair Sarah Hoffman and assistant superintendent Diana Bolan brought greetings on behalf of the school board. Some special guests were also invited to the ceremony, including the city councilor Michael Oshry and the president of Chamber of Commence James Cumming. Principal David Morris officiated the ceremony which was also attended by CIE Chair Stuart Wachowicz and the CIE Director Dr. Wei LI.

More than 100 people attended the event, including students, administrators and members of the business community.
