Shandong School Visit in China

newsletter 2From December 10 to 11, Assistant Superintendent Mary Michailides and Wei Li paid visits to two schools in Qingdao, Qingdao Number 2 High School and Qingdao Experiemental Junior High School.

During the visits, the Edmonton delegates had the opportunity to meet the principals and officials from these two schools and had extensive discussions on how we as the educators could provide quality education for students, as well as discussing the importance of  international education programs for global education. It was a great opportunity share and learn from each other.

The principals and officials from these two schools also showed the extensive facilities and classrooms  to the Edmonton delegates. The modern technologies and advanced facilities  left deep impression on the Edmonton visitors.

The highlight of the school visit was a meeting with students. The delegates met a group of 10 students in each school at which both sides shared information about  their school life and their thoughts on education. All the discussions were in English and the delegates were very impressed with the English language skills the students demonstrated.

The visits created more and better understanding on education systems for both sides and served to enhance the future of exchange programs between Shandong and Edmonton.
