During the last month, the CIE has received 9 new visiting teachers from China for the purpose of providing enhanced support to our Chinese programs at a number of schools that have been designated as Confucius Classrooms.
These visiting teachers were recommended by Shandong Education Ministry and Hanban. CIE conducted interviews with all the candidates and then made the final selection based on the needs and requirements of our programs.
These new visiting teachers have been placed at schools offering Chinese programs to provide non-instruction support to the Chinese language and culture initiatives and classes at each location. We believe the support from these visiting teachers will enhance Chinese programming and improve the learning for students. They will be placed at Confucius Classrooms in Edmonton and one will be placed in Lethbridge at the new Confucius Classroom at Ecole La Verendrye.
All these new visiting teachers were all qualified school teachers and university teachers in China.
