The Confucius Institute was invited to join with local Chinese communities to celebrate the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival at Churchill Square on September 19. Many of CIE teachers were involved in this event to display some Chinese culture arts such as Chinese dough art, paper cutting and Chinese knots. A lot of students old and young showed the great interest in these Chinese traditional arts. Some of them tried to learn how to make them by themselves. Meanwhile, many adults also showed the interests in the services CIE provides to the communities like Mandarin courses and Chinese culture classes. During the event, CIE collected about $100 donation that was contributed to Edmonton Food Bank.
