Before opening of the 3rd International Chinese Teaching Conference of the North American Confucius Institutes & Classrooms, the CIE organized school visits on October 16 for a number delegates who had registered for the conference. The guests were divided into two groups and each group had the opportunity to visit one elementary school, one junior high school and one senior high school.
Each school provided information about the development and nature of their Chinese programs. The delegates visited classrooms and were able to observe instruction at these locations.
All the delegates were impressed with the language abilities of the students. They were able to communicate easily with higher grade students and interacted well when asking them questions. One of the delegates said that it was amazing to see the quality of Chinese program in the English speaking country.
