The CIE Offers a Seminar at Southwest University of China

On November 8, Dr. Wei Li from the CIE was invited by Southwest University of China to provide a seminar on Chinese language teaching, The Edmonton Public Chinese bilingual program as well as the Confucius Institute were featured in his presentation. More than 100 graduate students and teachers attended the seminar.  The seminar raised much interest in the audience on the subject of Chinese language education in North America, as well as the work and operation of the Confucius Institute in Edmonton. A good discussion followed the presentation. Many attendees stated that this seminar helped them understand the work of Confucius Institutes as well as current Chinese language education in North America, especially in Canada. Most of the students at the seminar were taking master degrees in International Chinese Language Teaching.
