Visit from MacEwan University Students

2On April 25th, 2016, a group of students from MacEwan University visited Confucius Institute in Edmonton. These students are studying business management at the Business School of the university and will have a China Study Tour to visit Beijing and Shanghai. Before they are departing, they would like to visit CIE to learn a little about China, Chinese culture and language.

During their one day visit, the CIE prepared a series of activities for the students, such as the introduction of China as well as Beijing and Shanghai in terms of history, customs, food, transportation and shopping. A short language instruction is also prepared for the group so the students could learn some basic greetings in Mandarin. The students also have the opportunities to have some experiences about Tai Chi and Chinese Dough Art. At lunch, the students taste the Chinese food and it seems that they like it so much.

The associate dean of business school, Dr. William Wei, and his assistant are with the students during the entire visit. A day is very short but the visit provides the students the opportunity to learn more about China, language and culture. It leaves the students many things that will help the students in their trip to China.
