Professor Wang Xingguang from Zhengzhou University of China was invited by the Confucius Institute in Edmonton to provide a presentation on Confucius. Dr. Wang has spent years researching and studying the ideology and life of Confucius and has established his understanding and explanation of Confucius Analects.
Professor Wang did the first presentation to more than 20 Chinese visiting teachers at CIE on October 4. Professor Wang elaborated “Time” and “Benevolence” by quoting the “Book of Poem” and “Analects of Confucius”, which are the core ideas of Confucius, and pointed out that the Confucius’ thought was developing over time. His presentation was well received.
Professor Wang will also give his presentation at the Confucius Institute of Saskatchewan University.
