On May 2 and 3, the Confucius Institute in Edmonton organized the 2017 Spring HSK/YCT tests. More than 1200 students of grade 3 to 12 from 15 schools wrote the tests.
In order to make the tests successful, the CIE and the school teachers and administrators put a lot of time and effort to prepare the test. On May 20, more than 40 students will also take the HSK test. Most of these students are from the community, universities and the schools nearby Edmonton such as St. Albert, Red Deer and Lethbridge.
YCT & HSK are international standard test on Chinese language proficiency just like English TOEFL. Students can use its credentials to apply for scholarships to study in China and finding jobs. It will also help the students to build their confidence and motivation to learn Chinese.
