On December 17, the CIE held a meeting with all the visiting teachers and CIE staff. The meeting included a farewell to two of CIE visiting teachers, Ms. Blair Ren and Mr. Steven Sun. It was provided an opportunity for the monthly meeting for the visiting teachers, and enabled all to attend the CIE Christmas party.
At the meeting, Mr. Stuart Wachowicz spoke on behalf of the Confucius Institute to express the thanks to Ms. Ren and Mr. Sun for their contribution during last three years. Many other teachers also reflected on the time working together with them and spoke of many unforgettable stories and experiences. It was quite a moving moment and all the teachers expressed their appreciation to have the opportunity to work at CIE which they consider as part of their family.
We do appreciate all their hard work and effort to help the CIE provide support for Chinese language and culture education and the promotion of Chinese language in the region.
Meanwhile, we also welcomed five new visiting teachers. They all arrived during the last two months. Among them, four will work out of the Confucius Institute and one will be assigned to work at a school (Confucius Classroom). We are very confident that these new teachers will continue to work hard and make even more contributions to the development of the Confucius Institute and provide more support to our Chinese programs at schools as well as in the communities.
At this moment, CIE has 17 visiting teachers, 6 at CIE and 11 at schools.
