On May 29, the graduation ceremony of the 2017 CIE Spring Session was held in the Confucius Institute in Edmonton. More than 70 students and their families and friends attended the ceremony.

At the ceremony, the students from each language and culture class demonstrated what they have learned in their classes in a variety of forms, such as Chinese dance, singing, drama and comedy performance, poem recitation, Erhu ensemble and solo. Their excellent performances were well received by the audience.

CIE offered the different levels and kinds of Mandarin classes as well as the cultures classes for 2017 spring session. About 100 students registered in all these classes that were well received. The students were not only leaning the Chinese language and culture skills and knowledge but also establishing good connection with others and building their confidence that helps enrich their life.

The CIE teachers have worked very hard to provide quality classes to meet the needs of the students’ personal interest, work and study interests and needs. This is the 8th year that the CIE offered such classes. We will continue to offer these classes in the fall.
