“DOING BUSINESS WITH CHINA: INSIGHT FROM EXPERTS”
On the occasion of the first Global Confucius Institute Day, which is celebrated in 100 countries and by nearly 500 Confucius Institutes, AMCC-International Business Development and the Confucius Institute in Edmonton are pleased to sponsor an important discussion by an influential business panel on Alberta’s economic potential with Asia. In only a few years Canada’s trade with China has jumped from $7 billion to $55 billion per year. China’s Ambassador to Canada hopes this number will soon double. Albertans can take advantage of this inevitable growth, and opportunities for successful economic diversification and business creation.
Other celebratory activities include an afternoon of cultural workshops for families of all ages and in the evening an out of this world first world class performance by the Zhejiang Normal University Art Troupe and the China Gymnastic Skill Team, composed of Olympic level athletes.

Cultural Workshops – Free Admission – Noon to 4:00 pm: Before, during and after the panel, the Confucius Institute in Edmonton will host Chinese cultural displays, taste of China, workshops and performances at the Center of Education.
FOR THE ARTS:
World Class Performance – Ticketed Event: On the occasion of this important discussion, The Confucius Institute in Edmonton will also be hosting, in association with the east China Immigrants Society of Edmonton, a gala performance of the Zhejiang Normal University Art Troupe, and the China Gymnastic Skill Team, composed of Olympic level athletes, in an stunning display of acrobatic art.
The performance will occur in the evening of September 27th, 7:00pm at the Eva O Howard Theatre (Victoria School for the Performing Arts) This is a remarkable opportunity for Edmonton to host one of the world’s finest gymnastic teams. Some tickets are still available.
