In September, the CIE library joined the EPSB library system to improve the access to Chinese teaching and learning resources for teachers/ students in Edmonton Public Schools.
The CIE library collection consists of over 35,000 items featuring Chinese language materials and children’s books. There is also a Guided Reading section which includes the picture books chosen and leveled by the Chinese language teachers from Edmonton Public Schools. Many teachers used these multiple copies of books for class reading.
In order to serve the schools efficiently, the CIE sends the requested books to schools via truck mail. The teachers can return materials in the same way.
