The CIE has been active in promoting Chinese language and Chinese culture since its establishment in 2008. In January, the CIE participated at the on-line ECBEA/CGAA Chinese New Year celebration, and the ECBEA 13th annual scholarship. It also supported the Winter Olympic Games. In February, the CIE participated at the on-line Lunar New Year Extravaganza by Edmonton Chinatown Multi-Cultural Centre. In April, the CIE celebrated UN Chinese Language Day. In May, the CIE attended the CBA Spring Festival Banquet. In the past 14 years, the CIE organized and participated in a variety of cultural events and celebrations. In the future, the CIE will continue promoting and sharing all aspects of Chinese culture and heritage with Canadians.
